Miami Sunset Surgery Center is an outpatient surgical facility dedicated to elective surgery. It has been approved by The Florida Board of Medicine as a level 3 facility capable of carrying out surgical procedures under complete sedation or general anesthesia.

Miami Sunset Surgery Center has a patient lobby, patient and staff restrooms, a spacious recovery room, doctors’ lounge and two fully equipped modern operating rooms suites. It is located within a short 2.5 miles from South Miami Hospital to the East and 1.5 miles from Baptist Hospital to the South.

Our staff is comprised of registered nurses (RN), Certified Scrub technicians (CST), physician assistants (PA) and certified nurse anesthetists (CRNA) working under our anesthesiologists (MD) certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Our medical director, Jose Perez-Gurri, MD, FACS has been in private practice in the Miami area for over 25 years and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

We have created an environment with patient safety in mind first and foremost. In addition, you will find that attention to detail is our strong suit. From the pleasing and soothing color scheme to the state of the art sound system playing spa-like music throughout, our surgicenter was designed to alleviate the anxiety which often accompanies elective surgery.
