WHAT IS AAAASF

Our facility is accredited by the American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities or AAAASF, considered the “gold standard” in accrediting organizations. Established in 1980, AAAASF is unique among accrediting agencies in protecting patients in an office-based surgery setting. The primary mission of this accrediting body is to ensure the highest quality patient care in the ambulatory surgery environment.

AAAASF’s standards are second to none:

  • Requires surgeons to have hospital privileges for any procedure that is performed.

  • Requires the use of anesthesia professionals at the highest levels of training and experience.

  • Requires safe surgical environment, equipment, drug , etc. through specific standard.

  • Holds office-based surgery to hospital standards.

  • Requires peer review and tracks data to assure continued patient safety.

All AAAASF accredited facilities must:

  • Comply with all applicable local, state and federal regulations, including licensure, fire safety, sanitation, and building codes for the protection of patients and medical personnel.

  • Adhere to federal laws and regulations affecting their operation such as OSHA blood borne pathogen standards, hazardous waste standards, the American with Disabilities Act and HIPAA.

  • Utilize advance instruments and monitoring devices for patient safety during surgery and in the recovery room.
